Made in USA Gift Guide from Pinebury Founder, Kyle Rancourt

A holiday note from founder Kyle Rancourt
The holidays always bring me back to the things that matter most. Time outside, time with family, and an appreciation for the kind of craftsmanship that lasts. Pinebury was created to celebrate Maine, the outdoors, and the belief that goods made here in the United States can still meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
This guide brings together some of my favorite pieces from Pinebury along with a few items from other brands that I personally use and love. All of them are made with care, built to last, and designed for people who value comfort, durability, and thoughtful design. They make great gifts and they all reflect the spirit of American manufacturing that inspires our work.

Pinebury Favorites
Pinebury Merino Wool Boxer Briefs

Our Merino Wool Boxer Briefs are lightweight, versatile, and naturally odor resistant, which makes them perfect for everything from long rides to everyday wear. They have become one of my go-to essentials because they are comfortable, breathable, and disappear underneath any kit.
Winter Wool Merino Wool Hoodie

I always find myself reaching for our Winter Wool Hoodie when the temperature drops. Paired with the Every Season Merino Wool Tee as a base layer, this combination works in almost any winter scenario and feels warm, dependable, and incredibly comfortable.
The Lodge Vest by Pinebury

This might be one of the nicest things I have ever made. I reach for it every day because it is light, warm, comfortable, and it looks great with anything. I have even worn it skiing and it performed better than expected for a lifestyle piece.
Made in Maine and Beyond
Freeman Slipper by Rancourt & Co.

These slippers hold a special place for me because my family has been making footwear by hand in Maine for over 60 years. I wear the Freeman Slippers every day in the winter. They are ultra soft, warm, and offer the kind of quality that only handcrafting can deliver.
Peaks Mitts by Mainers

Made in Maine with all natural materials, these mitts combine waxed cotton canvas, high pile wool fleece, and durable leather palms. They are warm, comfortable, and built to last with a classic look that avoids anything overly technical. You can also find them at the Pinebury store in Portland.
Roland Pine Candle or Diffuser by Soap & Paper Factory

This is the most authentic pine scent I have found, and it instantly puts me in the mindset of Christmas in the Maine woods. The scent lasts a long time, and we carry both the candle and diffuser in our store.
More Favorites from Other Makers
The Service Pant by American Trench

I have not been into jeans lately, and this pant hits the perfect balance between dressy and casual. The fit is comfortable, the heavy twill fabric feels substantial, and the classic styling makes it easy to wear just about anywhere.
8 Bit Pack Pliers by Wolf Tooth

Wolf Tooth makes the majority of their products in Minnesota, and they continue to innovate in ways I really admire. Their 8 Bit Pack Pliers are one of my favorite tools because they are versatile, well built, and designed with a level of detail cyclists appreciate. Can't wait to try their new gravel pedals next season too.
Ombraz Sunglasses, Refugio

These are not made in the United States, but being made in Italy is a strong alternative and Ombraz earns a place on this list. I love the retro look and the armless design, which makes them very hard to break or lose since they can always hang around your neck. I use them for biking, skiing, and everyday life.
UnTapped Maple

Pure maple syrup with nothing added, and it provides clean, natural energy that tastes great. It is my go-to for long rides, big efforts, and any high output adventure where I need simple, real fuel. This one makes for a great stocking stuffer.
